What are Advanced Placement Courses?

College Board approved course work. The courses are taught at the College Level by THS instructors. Passing AP exams earns college credits

THS offers many different AP courses in the areas of Language Arts, Sciences, Mathematics, History, Foreign Language, and Music
 
The Advanced Placement Continuum
  • Pre-Advanced Placement Courses (Grades 9 & 10) - not required but recommended.
  • Advanced Placement Courses (10-12 Grades) - exam based courses.
  • Advanced Placement Courses are weighted an additional point (A=5.0 GPA; B= 4.0 GPA, etc.
  • Advanced Placement Diploma option available
 
AP Diploma Requirements
  • Six credits in Advanced Placement Courses from THREE different areas of study (see below).
  • Earn Score of 3 or higher in each of the SIX courses. (Score of 3 or higher is passing).
  • Areas of Study offered at THS:
    1. Music
    2. Foreign Languages
    3. English
    4. Mathematics
    5. Science
    6. History/Social Sciences
